Long Distance Responders Organization is an official non-profit 501(c)(3) with the goal of teaching the American People how to prepare and perform in emergencies with the use of Amateur Radio. Long Distance Responders Organization is founded by Raymond T. Anderson, N7KCB, with the help of his father Morris Anderson. The Non-profits Mission is "Teaching the American People how to respond to emergencies with Amateur Radio."

Raymond Anderson lives in a boat at the docks of Lake Pleasant, AZ. One day, he was looking at the calendar for future ham radio contests when he came up with an idea that will affect Amateur Radio nationally if not worldwide. Raymond created a goal to create a national remembrance day for Amateur Radio. Raymond had no idea how to create a remembrance day that everyone in the nation will mark on their calendar.
